There's a trick to making an ordinary day feel like an outing: give it a destination. Even a small one. "Let's go get ice cream" turns errands into a plan, and a plan is what kids remember.

Scoops & Giggles sits at 180 E Avenue in downtown Limon, which makes it easy to fold into whatever else you're already doing. Coffee first thing. A cone in the afternoon. Something from the bakery case on the way home. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 1 PM to 7 PM, so there's room to work it in.

Family activities in Limon, Colorado don't have to be complicated

Some of the best family time is the low-stakes kind. Nobody has to buy tickets or plan around a schedule. You walk in, everyone picks something, you sit down, and for fifteen or twenty minutes the phones go down and the conversation goes up.

For kids, an ice cream shop is a small adventure with real decisions in it. What flavor? Cone or cup? It's their choice to make, which is a bigger deal at seven years old than adults tend to remember.

A good stop for friends, too
